Call for Presentation and Participation
Purpose:
Enhancing the teaching and learning process using online academic technologies is becoming increasingly important to CSU Business faculty and administrators. The growth and advances in online teaching and other forms of digital media offers both challenges and opportunities for CSU Business faculty and students alike. The purpose of this conference is to build a vibrant community of CSU Business educators who are involved and/or interested in teaching with technology, providing a system-wide forum for sharing of best practices, pedagogical innovations, content development, collaborative multi-campus academic projects, and other related issues. The conference offers an unprecedented opportunity to network with other CSU Business faculty and administrators who are on the forefront of teaching using technology and online resources.
Topics of Interest:
The conference welcomes submissions from all CSU Business faculty who are using online and digital technologies to enhance teaching and learning. Types of submissions may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Sessions on pedagogical and/or administrative issues in online delivery methods
- Showcasing exemplary online courses or programs in teaching business
- Case studies of online courses and/or programs that address a particular institutional challenge
- Sessions demonstrating the use of MERLOT in business courses
- Case studies on learning from failure in adoption and implementation on online resources
- Presentations on the scholarly use of digital materials in teaching and learning
- Strategies for developing interactive materials for online courses and programs
- Faculty and/or administrative forums for discussing policies and challenges of teaching with online resources
- Promotion and tenure issues regarding digital scholarship and teaching with technology
- Studies on faculty attitudes regarding online teaching and learning
- Sessions on planning course redesign projects eligible for system-wide funding
Submission:
Please submit either a completed work or a 250-word abstract to Dr. R. Yazdipour by no later than September 5, 2008. Please indicate the type of submission (presentation, workshop, panel, roundtables, etc). All submissions will be peer reviewed by the Conference Organizing Committee. Any submission submitted after the deadline will be considered based on space availability.
Registration Fee:
The $100 fee covers the opening reception on Thursday afternoon, one breakfast, one lunch, and refreshments. A digital copy of the Proceedings book will also be made available. Information on travel and lodging is to follow in September.
Proceedings & Publication:
Presented works at the conference will be published in the Conference Proceedings; and selected works would be considered for possible publication in a special issue of a peer-reviewed Journal in the field.
